Waste production in urban areas is increasing every day due to the burgeoning population resulting from rural urban migration making it costly for urban authorities to manage. In an effort to control waste, urban authorities have recently introduced IEC campaigns on waste management behavior focusing on separation, re-use, reduction and recycling among urban residents; however, cities are still littered in residential areas posing great danger to the inhabitants. This book explains waste management behaviors and how different media can be used to influence urban residents to adapt the practices. Furthermore, the book shows how information, education and communication campaigns can influence urban residents' behavior towards waste management. On the impact of IEC campaigns; the book illustrates how campaigns cannot solely influence people to adapt waste management behaviors without the support of family and friends. Finally, the book recommends regular campaigns on waste management to increase awareness and evaluation of each campaign for each campaign for new lessons.
