Summary

This atlas provides a thorough overview on current surgical strategies in the treatment of esophageal diseases. The first part is focused on basic diagnostic tools, indications and preoperative work up. The second part provides instructions for current surgical procedures, illustrated with precise detailed drawings and operation notes to enable surgeons to perform even the most complex operations. The basic principles of esophageal surgery as well as conventional surgery, endoscopic and minimally invasive techniques are vividly presented in response to the advances achieved in esophageal surgery.
