In recent years, Investment and Trade have emerged as important parameters of assessing a country's international position. This book is an attempt to assess the impact and role of FDI and Exports on the Sectoral growth rates of the Indian economy. Major sectors which attract FDI, contribute to the growth of the entire economy and those sectors that are major exports as well, have been chosen to analyze the relationship. The sectors which have been chosen are majorly Services, Telecom, Tourism, Chemicals, Metallurgy, Automobiles and Drugs & Pharmaceuticals. It is seen that FDI contributes to exports and growth and vice versa in different capacities across sectors. In comparison with the trends and relationship at the national level, it is seen that there is a variation between national and sectoral trends.

Areej Aftab Siddiqui is an Assistant Professor at the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, New Delhi. She is a Ph.D in International Trade and Investment, Gold Medalist in Masters of International Business and a Graduate in Economics. She also has to her credit certificates in Global Sourcing & Procurement from USA.
