Iron-iron carbide composite can be used in applications in which high strength, hardness and wear resistance are required. In this work, Iron-iron carbide composite has been successfully synthesized by mechanical alloying method in a dual derive planetary ball mill followed by conventional sintering, studied the effect of milling time on the formation of iron carbide for a mixture of iron and graphite powder and characterization, property evaluation of the synthesized composite has been performed.
