The study assessed housing quality in Ogbomoso North local government with a view of creating a sustainable development in the area. It identifies the respondent perception of the condition of houses and the effects it has on people in the area. Data employed for this research work was obtained from primary and secondary sources. A total of 150 structured questionnaires were administered. The questionnaires were distributed using systematic random sampling method. A detailed literature review on related documents on housing quality and sustainability was carried out. Descriptive statistics were used to analyze the data collected. The findings revealed that (49%) of the respondents indicated that housing facilities were not adequate in terms of its standard and (60.7%) affirmed the absence of setbacks around their houses. The respondents were low income earners and have no much financial resources to renovate their dwelling units. It is recommended that government should help in subsidizing scheme of building materials and procurement of construction equipments in the study area. There should be urban renewal through upgrading of facilities and environmental sanitation in the area.
