The occurrence of economic pegmatites in some parts of Southwestern Nigeria has been a subject of discussion over the last few decades. This book has further provided insight towards the geological, mineralogical and geochemical characteristics of these deposits. Also, a prefeasibility economic analysis has been considered and this has classified the deposits to be highly economical if all required resources are directed towards its full optimization. This book is targeted at government agencies particularly the Federal Ministry of Solid Minerals towards actualizing it focus on diversification of income to the reserves of the Nation and also to private sectors and most importantly economic geologists, to have firsthand information about the economic viability of these deposits.
About the author
Oyebamiji A.O., B.Sc (Ogun), M.Sc (Ibadan). He is a Lecturer in the Department of Science Laboratory Technology (Geology/Mining option), Ekiti State University. His research interests include mineral exploration, geochemistry and environmental geology. He is currently undergoing his Ph.D. in Ore Deposit Geochemistry as an awardee of CAS-TWAS, 2016.
