Farmers in developing countries are exposed to pesticide hazards due to unsafe handling of pesticides. In spite of regular use, farmers are lacking in practices on safe handling (buying, mixing, spraying, storing and disposing) of pesticides, leading to an increased potential risk of pesticide poisoning. Improper handling of pesticides is common in developing countries and there is a paucity of research on the actual magnitude of pesticide poisoning. Thus, this book will make a significant contribution to scientific knowledge and understanding of the risks associated with occupational exposure to pesticides.
