About the author

Nicholas Luke is an Australian Rhodes Scholar with degrees in Law and the Arts. He is a Research Fellow at the University of Queensland Node of the Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence for the History of Emotions (Europe, 1100–1800).

Summary

This book provides a novel account of how Shakespeare creates his great tragic characters. It examines Shakespeare's technique in orchestrating dramatic events alongside Christian notions of rebirth, Badiou's philosophy of event, and process philosophy.
