Le tracé de la perspective d'une figure s'efiectue par un procédé très simple qui transforme chaque point en point correspondant, et chaque droite en droite correspondante de la nouvelle figure. Ou doit à cet éminent geo mètre une autre transformation tout aussi féconde, celle des polaires réciproques, par laquelle chaque point devient une droite, et chaque droite un point de la nouvelle figure; d'où résulte le principe de la dualité.
