About the author
Veronica Vecchi is Professor of Public Management and Business Government Relations at Bocconi University School of Management (SDA Bocconi). Veronica serves as scientific coordinator of SDA Bocconi Public Private Factory, an executive education program for public and private managers on PPPs; she coordinates Bocconi Monitor on Public Private Partnership and SDA Bocconi Lab for Impact Investments; she is the Director of MaSan, an executive programme of SDA Bocconi for buyers in the public sector. She also serves as Director of executive education at MISB Bocconi (Mumbai International School of Business), where she also teaches Business Government Relations. She is external faculty affiliate at Cornell University for the Cornell Program in Infrastructure Policy. She advises Italian national, regional and local authorities on PPPs and local development.
Luciano Balbo is the Founder and Chairman of Oltre Venture, the first impact investing fund in Italy, which he founded in 2006 after an experience in the social sector since 2002 with Oltre Foundation. Oltre Ventre is now among the few impact investing funds supported by the European Investment Fund. Entrepreneur with 20-year background in Venture Capital and Private Equity, he co-founded B&S Private Equity in 1988 and Magenta Investimenti in 2000, among the first Private Equity funds in Italy. In January 2004, Mr Balbo along with some friends and venture philanthropists (Stephen Dawson, Michiel de Haan, Doug Miller and Serge Raicher) formally launched the European Venture Philanthropy Association (EVPA) to promote Venture Philanthropy in Europe.
Manuela Brusoni, is Senior Professor of Public Management and Business Government Relations at Bocconi University School of Management (SDA Bocconi), where she serves also as Director of Accreditation. She advises Italian central and local public authorities in the field of public procurement, management education and local development. Currently she is President of ARCA, the Central Procuring Agency of the Lombardy Region. She also serves as ASFOR Board Member and Chair of the Accreditation Committee of ASFOR, the Italian Association for Management Education, where she is also member of the research group on Management Education trends. She is member of the Academic Board of ABIS, the Academy of Business in Society, member of the GBSN as ambassador for SDA Bocconi and active member of the Academy of Management since 2004.
Stefano Caselli, is Vice Rector for International Affairs and Full Professor of Banking and Finance at Department of Finance of Bocconi University. He’s Academic Director of MISB Bocconi Mumbai International School of Business, the Indian branch of Bocconi University. He’s member of the board of Directors of SDA Bocconi School of Management, where he was the Director of Executive Education Custom Program for Banks and Financial Institutions from 2006 to 2012. He’s conducting research at domestic and international level developing several publications on private equity, SME’s and family business financing, corporate finance, corporate banking and banking strategy. He’s member of the scientific committee of: CER (Centro Europa Ricerche in Rome), ECMI (European Capital Market Institute in Bruxelles), EVCA (European Private Equity and Venture Capital Association for PEREP Group in Bruxelles). He’s serving as independent director in several boards of corporations and financial institutions. Moreover he has been supporting many companies and institutions as strategic consultant (among them, Borsa Italiana for Elite Project, ABI Associazione Bancaria Italiana, OCSE, Consob for the working group devoted to incentives for stock exchange).
