Core Facies Analysis and Well Log Response, Mesaverde Grp, Uinta Basin

This book is based on MS in Geology thesis and presents lithofacies, facies associations, and their well-log responses for the Mesaverde Group (Neslen, Farrer, and Tuscher Formations) in the southeastern portion of Greater Natural Buttes Field, Utah. The analyses were conducted on 1645' of core from 6 wells. The depositional environment and sequence stratigraphic evolution define the subsurface stratigraphy, which records a transition from coastal plain to alluvial plain environments.

About the author

Ellen developed her love for science and geology while attending the State University of NY (SUNY) Oswego. She moved to Boulder, CO to obtain her MS in Geology from the University of Colorado at Boulder. She currently works for a small privately owned petroleum company in Denver, CO.
