The construction industry is one of the contributors to occupational accidents , injuries and diseases worldwide. However, the figures for occupational accidents , injuries and diseases are higher in the developing countries than the developed countries. Therefore , this book provides the practical guidelines to promote the occupational health and safety in the construction industry. The book include the background information on construction industry health and safety as well as the occupational health and safety status on the Namibian construction industry. Furthermore, the steps followed in the development of the practical guidelines and the guidelines developed to promote the occupational health and safety in the Namibian construction industry is included. The developed practical guidelines will assist the stakeholders in occupational health and safety promotion that will contribute to the reduction of occupational accidents, injuries and diseases on the targeted industry.

About the author










Emma Maano Nghitanwa is a nurse and OHS practitioner. She graduated with a Bachelor of Nursing Science from the Univ. of Namibia ,Master¿s degree in Occupational Safety, Health and Environment from the University of Greenwich and Doctor in Literature and Philosophy in Health Studies from UNISA. Currently, she is a Lecturer at the Univ. of Namibia.
