This book describes the role of artificial intelligence methods such as evolutionary strategy (ES), genetic algorithm (GA), particle swarm optimization, improved PSO (IPSO) and advanced PSO (APSO) in designing and parameter estimation of single phase and three-phase double feed induction motors. The mathematical model and formulation of three-phase double-feed induction motor (DFIM) and single phase induction motor with permanent capacitor is introduced. Also, GA, ES, PSO, IPSO and APSO methods are described and applied for parameter estimation of three-phase DFIM and designing single phase induction motor. Moreover, advantages of artificial intelligence techniques are compared with classical methods.

About the author










Meisam Mahdavi received the Ph.D. degree from the University of Tehran, in 2015, in power engineering. Currently, he is a postdoctoral research fellow in Department of Electrical Engineering, Sao Paulo State University.
