About the author
Albert J. Varon is Miller Professor and Vice Chair for Education in the Department of Anesthesiology, University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, and Chief of Anesthesiology as the Ryder Trauma Center, Jackson Memorial Hospital, Miami. He is a Fellow of the American College of Anesthesiologists and the American College of Critical Care Medicine.Charles E. Smith is Professor of Anesthesia at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, and Attending Anesthesiologist in the Department of Anesthesiology at the MetroHealth Medical Center, Cleveland. He is board certified in Perioperative Transesophageal Echocardiography and is editor of Trauma Anesthesia, 2nd edition (Cambridge, 2015).
