L'alphabet se compose de vingt-huit lettres - consonnes. Il n'existe ni ponctuation ni lettres majuscules. Il importe de connaître en français la valeur de chaque lettre, sa forme au commencement, au milieu et a la fin du mot. Il est indispensable de savoir, aussi, le nombre et la place des points de chaque lettre. Presque toutes les lettres se joignent entre elles pour former des mots. Nous signalerons celles qui ne se lient pas.
