About the author

Gianrico Carofiglio, geboren 1961 in Bari/Italien, arbeitet als Anti-Mafia-Staatsanwalt in seiner Heimatstadt. Er hat mehrere Romane veröffentlicht, darunter Kriminalromane um den Protagonisten Guido Guerrieri, einem als Strafverteidiger tätigen Rechtsanwalt. Die Romane zeichnen sich vor allem durch die lebhafte Schilderung spannungsvoller Gerichtsszenen aus. Die Bücher von Carofiglio wurden in Italien mit zahlreichen literarischen Preisen geehrt, u.a. mit dem renommierten "Premio Bancarella 2005", in Deutschland 2008 mit dem "Radio-Bremen-Krimipreis".
