Der Erhaltungszustand kann im grossen Ganzen als ein vorzuglicher bezeichnet werden und ware noch viel besser, wenn die Kalkblöcke nicht im Steinbruch von den Arbeitern zertrümmert worden wären, wobei vielfach der Knochen verletzt wurde und einzelne Bruchstücke verloren gegangen sind. Um den Stücken Halt zu verleihen, mussten die fehlenden Stellen mit Kittmasse ausgefüllt werden.
