Irish Manchester combines many previously unpublished photographs with well-researched captions to create a fascinating picture of the Irish community in the city. Two chapters are being contributed by notable local characters Joe Casserley (who presents a local radio show) and Rose Morris of the Irish Heritage Centre.
About the author
Aland Keegan is a principal lecturer in journalism, media and communication at the University of Central Lancashire. He is also an award-winning radio presenter and is the stadium announcer at Manchester United's Old Trafford.
Danny Claffey has been the official photographer of the Irish Post for 27 years. The two have collaborated on another volume of
Irish Manchester in Old Photographs and Alan wrote the first alone in 2004. They both live in Greater Manchester.
