Kamel El-Khatib a plus de 30 ans d'expérience dans la recherche en génie chimique, dont 20 ans consacrés au développement de différents types d'électrocatalyseurs à base de nanomatériaux, à la mise au point d'un pate bipolaire métallique pour les applications de piles à combustible à membrane électrolytique polymère, au traitement des eaux usées et à la production d'électricité à l'aide d'une pile à combustible microbienne.
