This book is an excellent material pertaining to classical genetics of Anopheles stephensi. Anopheles stephensi is an urban malarial vector in the Indian Subcontinent. This book contains information on geographical distribution of races of Anopheles stephensi from India. It is known that 'type' form is predominant form of the vector. The book also has data on two mutants, one bady colour mutat 'dark larva' and another eye colour mutant 'sienna eye', thier inheritance pattern, allelic and linkage studies with other mutants from our laboratory. One of the method to control this vector is the 'Genetic control method'. Understanding the basic genetics of the vector in will go a long way in assisting in the genetic control method. These mutants can be used a s markers for various molecular mechanisms including vectoral and insecticide resistance.

Awarded Ph.D. in Applied Genetics from Bangalore University and has Post Doctoral experience from Yenepoya University, Mangalore, India. Specialized in Biology, Cytogenetics and Insecticide resistance studies of Anopheles stephensi.
