Phenotypic and genotypic susceptibility testing of M tuberculosis

The aim of this study is to access the ability and compare the efficiency of DNA strip and Bactec MGIT 960 assay to detect resistance to first-line and second-line in multidrug resistant Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MDR-TB) when compared to the agar-proportion method as the gold standard.

I am a MSc graduate in Medical Microbiology at the University of Pretoria, South Africa. I worked as a research assistant at the Medical Microbiology Department, University of Pretoria from 2013 till 2015. I have an experience in Molecular pathology methods such as conventional PCR, Real-time PCR, PFGE, MLST and Sequencing.
