In writing upon the treatment of diphtheria, the author has described the methods which he employs in his own practice, and which he has found successful in a large number of cases, some of which were of the worst form. These methods are not presented as original. They have been selected from those described in the numerous articles on the subject, written by those of the most extensive experience. The author is especially indebted to the very exhaustive treatise on the subject of diphtheria in Ziemssen's Cyclopaedia of Medicine.
