Many individuals who have endured maltreatment during childhood and adolescence, continue to experience poor regulatory abilities in the areas of; self-awareness, emotionality, relationship statuses, and even employment histories. Subsequently,those persons exhibit detrimental health maladies and mental health afflictions at an amplified ratio later in life. The wider scope of the problem pertaining to individuals who suffer various abject domestic upbringings, renders the impacted person to a suspended state of adversarial situations throughout their lifespan. Struggling to maneuver without the skills to exert self-regulation, those persons eventually encounter elevated comorbidities. Thus, etching a panoramic and lasting demand for professional community involvement to address this panacea. The Hermaneutic analytic method was applied to the analysis of notable scientific studies to examine the problem in detail, in order to create more widespread awareness in professional and public realms. Results of this analysis shows that direct intervention utilizing salient screening, early and ongoing testing throughout our communities is required to impede this pandemic.

Dr. Margaret Hicks recently completed her doctoral studies from the California Southern University in the USA, and has worked in a private community counseling service with individuals and couples using various therapeutic interventions. Professor Nadira Pardo, Ph.D. supervises doctoral students at CalSouthern and has 30 years as a Psychologist.
