Hans Berner war langjähriger Dozent in der Aus- und Weiterbildung an der Pädagogischen Hochschule Zürich und an der Sekundar- und Fachlehrerausbildung an der Universität Zürich mit den Spezialgebieten Aktuelle Strömungen in der Pädagogik, gesellschaftlicher Wandel, didaktische Modelle und Unterrichtskonzeptionen, berufspraktische Ausbildung. Davor mehrjährige praktische Erfahrung als Lehrer an der Berufsschule für Gehörgeschädigte in Zürich. Autor bekannter pädagogischer und didaktischer Grundlagenbücher wie «Über-Blicke – Ein-Blicke.
