L'honneur de cette idée du centenaire et de la statue de Béranger revient au fondateur du journal la Chansàn,' M. Patay, et à son rédacteur en chef, M. Henry Lecomte. A leur appel, les adhésions les plus glorieuses ont répondu bien vite; un comité, dont Victor Hugo a accepté la présidence d'hon neur, s'est constitué, et c'est, entouré des plus dévoués et des plus aimés des membres de ce comité, que je viens, au profit de l'érection de cette_5.
