About the author

Sulamith Frerich currently holds the position of an assistant professor for Virtualization of Process Technology- Experimental Experiences in Engineering Education at the Ruhr-University Bochum, Germany. Her research includes simulation and remote operation of test facilities.
Tobias Meisen is the managing director of the Institute of Information Management in Mechanical Engineering (IMA) at RWTH Aachen University since 2014. His main research areas comprise interoperability of heterogeneous system landscapes and artificial intelligence in production scenarios.

Anja Richert currently holds a professorship for agile management at the faculty of mechanical engineering at RWTH Aachen University and is the managing director of the Center for Learning and Knowledge Management (ZLW) at the Cybernetic-Cluster IMA/ZLW & IfU in Aachen.

Marcus Petermann is the head of the Institute for Particle Technology at the Institute for MechanicalEngineering at Ruhr-University Bochum. His main areas of research include high pressure process technology, design of particle systems and the usage of CO2 as a raw material. 

Sabina Jeschke is head of the Cybernetic-Cluster IMA/ZLW & IfU and Vice Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at RWTH Aachen University. Her main research areas are amongst others: Complex IT-systems; robotics and automation and virtual worlds for research alliances and education.

Uwe Wilkesmann is Director of the Centre for Higher Education (zhb), TU Dortmund University. His main areas of research are Higher Education Research, Academic Teaching and Didactics, and Organization Studies.
