She holds a degree in Journalism from Rutgers University, a teaching certificate from St. Peter's University, and an MA in social studies from Concordia University. Annette is a member of the Essex County Civic Association and the Newark NAACP. Julie M. Anderson is a Brooklyn-based artist, illustrator, and cartoonist whose work showcases diversity and strong women, especially in fantasy and sci-fi settings. Her artistic inspirations are reflected in a fusion of Japanese and Afro-American themes, with art and illustrations ranging from the digital media to the more traditional media, and in promotional materials.
