Concours EDF Bas Carbone

In Bordeaux, the eighth EDF Low Carbon competition launched the challenge of creating a carbon neutral city adapted to the banks of the river Garonne located to the north of the city.
Born of the imagination developed by multidisciplinary teams (architects, engineers and landscape designers), the four chosen city planning scenarios all take unusual and paradoxical forms : inhabited clearings, linear constructions and wooded structures built around large areas of domesticated land. The proposals also offer viable solutions able to compensate for carbon emissions and - who knows - anticipate the city of the future.
