About the author
Jean-Claude Mézières was born on September 23rd 1938 in Paris, France. In 1965, while in the USA, he met up with Pierre Christin and started working with him on comics, creating the famous Valerian and Laureline series. In 1984 he received the Angoulême Grand Prize in recognition of his work, and in 1997 he worked on the set design for Luc Besson’s film The Fifth Element. He also participated in the Lille European Capital of Culture project in 2004.
