Review on the stress analysis models of pneumatic tire

This book is devoted to review on the models of pneumatic tire stress analysis. Firstly, a brief description of the radial tires and bias tires structures is carried out. According to the different analysis method, the models are divided into three categories: physical model, energy model and numerical model. Then a brief review is given on the netting model, membrane model, shell model, composite material model, string model, elliptic cord shape model, and piston-cord model. The basic stress calculation formulas and geometric models are given. The application of FEA models on tire static mechanics, rolling, noise, handling and so on are mentioned.

About the author

He gets PH.D in Harbin Institute of Technology, and now is the deputy director of the Center for rubber composite materials and structure.Researches focus on the rubber and composite materials performance and tire mechanics.
