Currently, the pollution of water environment in Mekong Delta - Viet Nam is an urgent case. The pollution of river is becoming more and more popular. This is due to reasons: intensive cultivation, overusing pesticide in agricultural activities including breeding and fishing. To solve this problem, Ludwigia adscendens (Jussiaea repens L.) and Water hyacinth (Eichhoria crassipes) are the most popular aquatic plants which widely flourish in Sa Dec city - Mekong river. They can absorb organic and inorganic compounds in wastewater through their bio-filter system. The using aquatic plants for wastewater treatment system is an effective solution which allows to exploit local common materials. This book is a guideline to construct sustainably wetlands, particularly in developing countries.

About the author










Vu Thuy Quang is a lecturer of Biotechnology Department and the Center for Research and Development at the University of OPEN HCMC. He has achieved Master of Water Chemistry in the University of Poitiers - ENSIP - France and INRS - Canada. The other book of Quang is "Traitement des déchets d'élevage par la technique de Biogaz" in French edition.
