Heritage management, preservation and exploitation are rather complex issues to be treated in a limited framework of a book. Thus, research tried to focus on a specific country and area in order to narrow research topic and get more in depth and go through more efficiently research objectives. Furthermore, an interdisciplinary research analysis is needed to elaborate qualitative and quantitative data before drawing conclusions and conveying results. Primary conclusions drawn through this paper have to do with vision of people about heritage. Perceptions about role of cultural and natural heritage change from country to country: many people still see monuments as soulless objects of the past that need to stay in shadow while others perceive them as live, animated history of an area that needs to be preserved and featured. Economic crisis has also played an important role in this direction, especially in countries still experiencing its effects, like Greece. People are more likely to return to their old values as well as feeling accountable for the protection of their heritage.
