About the author










Harry Bennett is an Associate Professor at the University of Plymouth. Most of his research concentrates on the Second World War (Sea, Air and Land) and the social history of the people involved. He is particularly interested in maritime history (both civilian and military) and the on-going relevance of the past to an understanding of today s maritime/naval issues. Harry Smith has contributed numerous articles to journals and magazines and is the author of several books. He has appeared frequently on television programmes on the BBC and other channels."
