About the author

Margret Rey, geboren 1906 in Hamburg, Studium an der Düsseldorfer Kunstakademie und tätig als Werbetexterin und Fotografin. 1935 augewandert nach Rio de Janeiro, Verheiratung und seit 1939 mit ihrem Mann in Paris, wo ihr erste Kinderbuch entstand. Seit 1940 in New York, weitere Veröffentlichungen mit Illustrationen ihresy Mannes. Nach dessen Tod lehrt sie kreatives Schreiben und Gründung der Curious-George-Stiftung. Die Autorin verstarb 1996.
