Phenolic Glycolipids (PGLs) are constituents of the mycobacterial cell envelope that are uniquely produced by human mycobacterial pathogens such as M. tuberculosis, M. bovis, M. leprae and M. ulcerans. PGL-1 is suspected to play a critical role in the pathogenesis of leprosy. About the author

Jin WANG nasceu na cidade de YiWu, província de ZheJiang, China, em 1985. Obteve o seu doutoramento em Microbiologia na Universidade de Toulouse III - Paul Sabatier, em França, em 2015, e é atualmente professor na Universidade de Professores de Yancheng. Os seus interesses de investigação são a química medicinal e a química supramolecular.
