Athletics is a sport which needs a day to day exercise, enquire to involve in frequent national or international tournaments. Among the types of athletics, running, particularly the long running needs endurance and stamina. It is known that distance running in Ethiopia is one of the famous athletics, by which the athletes have a good story of success; despite the fact that there is no tangible reason for this majority best score yet. Many researches find out distance runners, are likely affected by presence of anemia and iron deficiency. Besides, there is no study that indicates Ethiopian athletes are whether adequately taking macro and micro nutrients, to rule out the deficiency hypothesis. The study started with 101 professional Athletes, available and agreed to participate in the study. The findings written in this book covers micronutrient status, such as Iron, Folate, Vit B12, anemia and red blood cell (RBC) level, then tried to associate with their performance. This is an original research on sport nutrition and biochemical assessment in the country, and I believe that this finding further initiate for researches on subjects who frequently involve in exercises.
