Excerpt from Newson's First French Book
Even a cursory examination will, 1 am sure, cou vince anyone that it is a practical book. It is not written to advance a cause or exploit au idea. The authors have not hesitated to use what is best in the different methods of teaching modern languages. The book aims to make French the language of the class room. In doing so it does not leave the teacher to his own devices. It provides him with material which is interesting and systematically arranged. The language is very clear, and adapted to children of from nine to thirteen years, for whom the book is intended.
