The Canadian Soldier

After the very lively interest shown in the first two volumes of the 'British Soldier from D-Day to VE-Day', I have here decided to pay tribute to his North American cousin : the Canadian Soldier during the Liberation of Europe.
The 21 st Army Group technical trilogy is now complete, From Normandy to the Baltic, being a fitting title.
But let's go back to some essentials.
The purpose "The Canadian Soldier in North-West Europe' is to bring together in a pleasing and attractive format (without however claiming to be comprehensive) all the material details concerning the Canadian soldier, the "Canuck", as he was affectionately called. The period covered extends from the Normandy Beaches, 6 June 1944 to 2 May 1945, the historic date when the 1st Canadian Parachute Battalion met up with the Soviet Army, at Wismar, a German town on the Baltic.
The ambition of this book is to offer basic documentation for military history enthusiasts who wish to acquire detailed information about the Canadian Army, not to forget the militaria collectors, model-makers and those taking part in historical reenactments; they will all find elements to satisfy their hobbies or interests in this book.
The Canucks, very close to French hearts, crossed the Ocean long before the Americans did and hurled themselves against the concrete of the Atlantic Wall as early as 1942.
I hope this book is worthy of their exploits.
