Electrical energy consumption at global level is rising day by day and therefore, there is a steady increase in the demand for power generation. In addition, increasing concern for environment has led to the growing interest in innovative technologies for generation of clean and renewable electrical energy. To meet the above two aspects, large quantity of renewable energy generation is being integrated into the power system in addition to the conventional power generation. Wind energy is one among the most available and exploitable forms of renewable energy. It is also the most reliable and developed form of renewable energy source. Also, a wind electric generation system is the most cost competitive of all the environmentally clean and safe renewable energy sources in the world.
