Cultural trauma creates injury in the heart of the society, while 'carrier groups' construct collective memory, which enshrines in the national identity of the state. Under those circumstances, unresolved cultural trauma leads to the unstable situation in the relations with varying détente and increase in tension periods that creates vicious circle. Complete reconciliation is a choice and series of actions in order to rebuild damaged foundation. It is a long process that requires a lot of mutual efforts to build strong relations. Reconciliation in Polish-Ukrainian case could be achieved with the change of generations and continuation of conducting mutual activities towards strengthening the partnership.

Oleksandra Senchuk achieved Master Degree with Merit in Politics and Society. She graduated from Polish University with B.A Degree in International Relations. She works in Poland as Project Assistant in the international project.
