Young children are fascinated with diggers, trucks and generally any machine that makes a lot of noise - this book is the perfect opportunity to see big machines at work and lift over 40 flaps to look inside a building site. A great way to learn the names and functions of big machines and structures and look out for them in real life. Richly informative, with colourful, friendly illustrations and lots of flaps to lift and look beneath.

About the author

Rob studied Egyptology at university, but never thought he'd do much with it. Since joining Usborne in 2005, he's written loads of books about Ancient Egypt, and on topics ranging from space to the story of Islam. He is also the author of several award-winning historical adventure novels, and a hopeless cook.

Summary

An action-packed book filled with building sites to explore, construction machines to learn about and a demolition site in action. Lift the flaps to discover the work that goes into building a house, a bridge, a skyscraper and more, the jobs people do and the machines that are used. An exciting introduction to how buildings go up - and come down.
