Do language means have the power to breach the information quality of news reporting? Yes, they do. Media organizations operate in the public space and hence they have the ability to impinge on public opinion! That is why the society demands socially responsible behavior from the media. The flagship of media activities is the production of news reporting. This is presented as a reflection of current reality and as such atrributed such positive values as being truthful, objective, and balanced. The team of researchers of Palacký University proves that via the language means the evaluation of news or preconceived emotional attitude towards them can be foisted upon the recipient.

About the author










Bo¿ena Bednäíková is an associate professor and the chair of postgradual doctoral study programme Czech Language at Palacký university Olomouc. She is the member of the Ministry of Education Committee for foreign lectorates of Czech. She sits on the Scientific Advisory Board of Zeitschrift für Slavistik, and on the board for CASA E-Leadership.
