The present study entitled "Effects of passive smoking on women - A Comparative study of professionals and home makers ". was undertaken with the objective of studying the effect and hazards of passive smoking on women's health namely women professionals and home makers. The study was carried out in Chittoor district of AP adopting stratified random sampling procedures in the selection of the respondents. 300 working professionals and 300 home makers making it a total sample of 600 women in the age group of 25 - 50 years was studied. An exclusive interview schedule was developed for collection of data .

Prof. D. Usha Rani has been working as Director, Centre for Extension Studies & UGC Centre for Women¿s Studies, S.V.University, Tirupati. She has 33 years of Research and teaching experience. Completed successfully many major and minor research projects. Under her supervision 8 Ph.D.¿s and 1 MPhil were awarded.
