Michaela J. L. Mares-Tamayo, PhD, is a visiting scholar with the Center for Critical Race Studies at UCLA. She teaches in the Department of Chicana(o) and Latina(o) Studies at California State University, Los Angeles. Daniel G. Sol¿rzano is professor of social science and comparative education and director of the UCLA Center for Critical Race Studies in the Graduate School of Education and Information Studies at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Sol¿rzano has authored over 100 research articles and book chapters on issues related to educational access and equity for underrepresented student populations in the United States.
