Mehrdad Beykverdi received Ph.D in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems) at Science and Research branch, Islamic Azad University, Tehran, Iran in the field of Control and Stability of Microgrids. Now He is a Research Assistant in Renewable Grid center of Tehran and also, Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generator (PMSG) designer and manufacturer in Iran Aircraft Industries. He has published more than 30 papers in the electrical engineering journals and conferences. The fields of his interests are application of Artificial Intelligence in power system, FACTS devices and their control, Control and stabilization of power systems, Artificial Neural Networks, Microgrids, Fuzzy systems and control and Distribution system protection.

Microgrid refers to an integration of loads and distributed generation (DG) sources in low or medium voltage levels functioning as a power system for power generation. This investigation intended to control a DC microgrid in islanded operation mode using decentralized power management strategies, without any telecommunication links.
