About the author

Raina Ong moved to Japan after graduating from university and has stayed there for almost a decade. She started as an assistant language teacher (ALT) on the Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) programme, but has hung up her teaching realia and is currently a Japan-focused travel writer.
