The disclosure of the massive surveillance by US Agency for National Security - NSA has shown that the users of developed part of the world are not anymore protected regarding their privacy and personal data as they supposed to be compared with the users of the countries represented in the book. Most of the applications provided within the on-line services have intentionally in-built vulnerabilities The direct economic damage caused by the revelation of the massive NSA surveillance on e.mail and phone according to the OTI report in 2014 has grown for U.S companies like Dropbox, Google, Facebook and is estimated to be close to 180 billion USD. The ICANN CEO Dr.Chedade recently noticed " We are at a time when the Internet plays a key role in economics, politics, social stability, and world peace. Unlike the early Internet period, there's heightened interest on who manages the Internet and how it is managed in all countries in the world". This book reveals the user tolerance to the privacy abuse in twelve countries but the findings presented applies to the whole world.

Prof. Dr. Borka Jerman-Bläi¿ is a full professor at University of Ljubljana, Department of Economics and is heading the Laboratory for Open Systems and Networks at Jo¿ef Stefan Institute. Mr. Cormac Callanan is holding BA (Mod) Comp Sci, MSc from the University of Dublin, Ireland. He is a member of the Irish Internet Safety Committee.
