A hospital is an integral part of a social and Medical organization. The function of which is to provide the population complete health care, both curative and preventive, and whose outpatient services reach out to the family and its home environment. The hospital is also a center for the training of health workers and bio-social research. Hospital waste management deals with the generation, collection, segregation and disposal of hospital waste. The aim of this study was to compare the hospital waste management in Government and private hospitals. For this purpose, a public "Civil hospital" and a private "Mehboob hospital" was selected.

Dr. Shagufta Naz, Assistant Professor Zoology in Lahore College for Women University, did her MSc in Zoology, M.Phil and PhD in Molecular Genetics. Now working actively teaching and as researcher, thus rendering all possible services in her capacity to the organization.
