El día 1. º de enero de 1809 en que se confirman las elecciones del cuerpo Municipal de Buenos Aires estaba des tinado para una revolucion en la cual debía quitarse el mun dnalvircy y sosliluirse en su lugar una Junta Suprema á imitacwn de las dela Peninsula, cuyo Presidente debia ser el Teniente General Ruiz Huidobro, don Bernardo de Ve lazco, su inspector interino. Los primeros síntomas anun ciaban consecuencias muy terribles; pero tuvieron efecto.
