This work is about the inter-semiotic cohesive relationship between the different modes of communication i.e. verbal and visual in the Primary level text books published by Punjab Text book board. It studies how these two modes are cohesively related to each other to create a meaningful and a comprehensive discourse for the young ones of primary level. Inter-semiotic cohesion between Verbal and visual modes is analyzed at the ideational level of meaning proposed by Yu Liu and O'Halloran (2009). The study might be helpful for the course designers of Primary level text books to create a more comprehensible and well-constructed discourse using the suggested categories of ideational meaning.
